Special Services
Throughout the
year, we hold a various amount of services for not only our
church, but for the entire community.
Good Friday:
Each year we host a service on Good Friday in the evening where
the message of the Easter season is brought to life through a
powerful message, worship songs, and the sight of the cross as
individuals have the opportunity to pound a nail into the cross
in remembrance of the crucifixion of our Lord and Savior. The
date for this service is always listed on our
calendar page.
Sonrise
Service: We are proud to work with the great ministerial
council of Mineral City and participate in an annual Sonrise
Service with St. Paul's Community Street located on First
Street, and the United Methodist Church on Davis Street. Our
Senior pastor works with the other two pastors to provide a
powerful community combined service at 7am on Easter morning.
Each year, the churches rotate locations and each pastor changes
roles, one hosting the event, one leading the prayer, and one
brining the message. The hosting church then provides a
plentiful continental breakfast.
Boy Scout
Sunday: Our church is host to Boy Scout Troop 88 and once a
year they join us for service where they let members of our
congregation learn about their projects, community service, and
an update on their group. They meet each month on the second
Tuesday in the church for their meeting.
Kids
Konnection Closing Program: Each year we end of Kids
Konnection Program with a Sunday PM special service where kids
are recognized for participating in the program, sing songs, and
show their parents what the spent the year doing.
VBS Closing
Program: Each year we end our VBS program with a special
service where the kids lead the service through music, a
message, and awards. This brings members of our community
together, regardless of denomination, allowing all to focus
their eyes on Jesus.
Candlelight
Service: Our Candlelight service is held the Sunday or
Wednesday preceding Christmas and is an evening service where
those in attendance use candles, with the lights dimmed, and
allow us to celebrate the birth of Christ. The service includes
worship, a message, and prayer.
We also have a
variety of special events that happen throughout the year
including an Easter Family Fun Night, Class Parties and outings,
special lunches and dinners, Harvest Bash, Kids Fun Days, and an
annual picnic. All of these events are advertised on the church
homepage, in our published materials, and on our
calendar!
